SPIOENKOP TASTING ROOM

We were invited by the owners of Spioenkop Wine Farm in the Elgin Valley to breathe new life into a derelict building, left partially complete for over eight years. Our brief was to reflect the unpretentious, grounded nature of the farm - a place where the primary focus is, first and always, the land. We worked with earthy tones and rough, honest clay materials to create a space that welcomes the red dirt off boots and the local farm dogs. A tasting room where nothing feels too precious, and the wine - and the soil it comes from - remains the centre of it all.
